Students you have received your guidelines for blogging, please make sure you follow them. Also, a little reminder, make sure you include your first name and your class color as your last name. For instance, if my first name is Scott and I'm in the red class then my name on the blog would be Scott Red. More Importantly let’s have fun!!

I was also having trouble with the blog. I typed in information several times and when I hit Submit it said that the comment was being checked. So I don't know if any of my comments went through.

Hi its Renee Yellow with #5, its important for adults to know because , what if u gave someone $30 and the grocerys were only $15 and they gave u $2 and then u left? You could have $15 dollars savong or spending it but, because you dont know math. That's why its important to know math as an adult.

I think you should just give it time. It will probably resolve itself.

Just give it time Tyler. That's what I did, and I know I'm a little late on my homework, but it wouldn't work until now for me.

Hello! This is Lauren Red. I think my best moment in Math may have been when I found out I passed a geometry test I wasn't feeling very good about. The worst time was when I found out I made a B on my report card.
ethan red

My best moment in math class was when I got a very good grade on my CRCT. My worst moment in math class was when I got a B-.
ethan red
8/6/2012 01:12:48 pm
one of my strategies is to listen in class so you don't have to study so much, and another one is to take notes.
Eric Red
8/6/2012 01:58:20 pm
I agree, Ethan Red those are smart strategies.
Kilah Blue
8/6/2012 01:16:14 pm
Hey, this is Kilah I followed what you said to do for our math h.w. My worst moment in Math class was when i raised my hand to give the answer to a question and the answer that i said was no way near to the actual answer to the problem. Also, some people laughed at me but i didnt care so i laughed with them. The 2 strategies that have helped me are guess and check & work backwards. What I'm most worried about in Math is being able to pass the Math part in the CRCT and I look forward to learning new things in math.
James Red

Ms. Scott
8/6/2012 01:58:18 pm
We Finally got it working & a lot of your classmates are blogging away!! 8/6/2012 01:22:44 pm
Its Renee Yellow back here, two strategies I would use contex clues, and definitions. One reason i would use contex clues beacause they are really help clues to help you out.i would use defenitions because when u know definitions you get an advantage to the understanding of the problem
Hampton Red
8/6/2012 01:57:12 pm
You are very right about how context clues and definitions can help with math. I can't go three days without finding a new math word, so those two strategies really help me.
JordanRed
8/6/2012 01:24:08 pm
Hi everyone; I'm JordanRed from Mary Lin Elementary, where I learned most all of what I now know about math. I never realized how much we use math in our everyday life until I started cooking, which I do almost every day. I think we can all agree that math is sometimes a little boring, but it can also be really fun! Some of my best moments in math class were in fourth grade because we did lots of fun activities and projects! However, my love for math sunk in the fifth grade, when it got confusing, challenging, and aggravating. I had to get through it somehow, so I figured out some easier ways to get the information in my head! The first thing is that a lot of people have different strategies. I know this sounds weird, but one of my strategies is to use other peoples' strategies if they help me make math more fun and/or easier! Another strategy I use in math is making charts! I like to get everything down on paper, but have it still be as organized as it can be, so whenever I can, I use T-Charts or any other kind that works for me. Finally, some things I'm really looking forward to in math this year are fractions, decimals, and finding the right answers! I also have some things I'm a little worried about this year. I'm especially worried about doing graphing, mean, median, mode, and things like that. It's not my favorite thing to do in math, and it gets confusing for me quite often. I'm sure that this year, I will develop new strategies in math.

Eric Red
8/6/2012 01:26:46 pm
When I am solving math problems I use many different strategies. First, I try to make an estimate of the problem, so if my real answer is not close to my estimate I know my answer is wrong. Also, when I multiply I use little strategies like when you multiply by 10 you just add a 0 to the end of your number. For example, fifty-six times ten equals five hundred sixty. These strategies and others help make solving math problems much easier for me.
Hampton Red
8/6/2012 01:53:04 pm
I agree that estimates help very much with math. Sometimes, there is a very complex problem you come across at a venue, for example, the grocery store. If you were trying to figure out how much your $2.54 soda cost with 13.4% tax, you could very easily miscalculate without estimation.

Hello, Inman! I am Hampton Red and I am in Ms. Scott's math class. I have had many interesting moments in math class over the years. One of my favorite moments in math class was when I was champion at "Around the World" in second grade. I remember feeling amazing! The worst moment I have ever had was when I broke a meter stick in half on accident in third grade. The teacher got very mad at me.

Hello Ms.Scott!! I'm Abigail (Abby) Red, and yes, the blog is working. I am extremely excited to learn new and interesting things in math! I have many good and bad moments from this subject. One of my best moments in math was in 5th grade when I made a 100% on my test. My name was posted outside of my math teacher's room because I received a perfect score!! One of my worst moments in math was when my mind went blank in the middle of a test. I couldn't remember anything!!!

Learning math in the 6th grade will help me if i wanted to be lawyer because i would have to know how much money someone gets from the court trial. Another way math can help me in the future is if i was a treasure i would have to be really good at math to keep up with the money. Two strategies i would use are contex clues, and i would highlight key words

There are a lot of things that I'm exited about and worried about this year. I'm looking forward to learning more about math this year. I'm worried that I won't complete my homework on time. I'm also worried that I will forget to tuck in my shirt, and get in trouble. Although math might be hard, I think it will be fun.

Hello everyone, my name is Victoria Hardy, but you may call me Tori. I think my best moment in a Math class was last year in my fifth grade class. I finished a project the day it was assigned, because I was focused, I concentrated, and I worked hard. I had the best feeling watching her read over it, and look over to me and smile. My worst moment was probably when I had to discuss with my teacher about a worksheet for a while because I was missing just one important factor. When I figured it out, I was a bit frustrated because of how simple it was.

Hi everyone, my name is Savannah Red. One of my best moments in math class was last year, in fifth grade, when my teacher Mr. Braun started playing music and dancing around the class while we did our work. It made it hard to concentrate, but we had already taken our exams and finished up most of the years requirements. One of my worst moments of math class was in second grade because during a really interesting and interactive project we were working on, I began to feel sick, and I had to leave the room. This was because I ended up throwing up on my way to tell the teacher:( These were some great times and some awful ones, but they were all in math!
