Remember to follow the guidelines on your homework sheet.
1. First introduce yourself to the group. 2. Write about your best and worst moments in a Math class. 3. Share at least two strategies you have used to help you problem solve. 4. Finally share what you look forward to and what you are most worried about in Math. 5. Have Fun!!!

If I add half of my name to the other half of my name I would Michelle Red. In math class one of my worst moments was when we were in the middle of a really fun game and our time ran up it felt like we had ran into a brick wall. When I was in math class we had some incredible moments. Some of them include, getting the only A in the class on a challenging quiz. A couple of my strategies is that I read all instructions carefully and I make sure to use correct formulas for the specific problem. Anyways, what I am most looking forward to in math is the expressions and equations domain. The thing the I am most worried about is how I will achieve my goals ahead of me in this math class. Thats it folks!

Sara Yellow
8/4/2014 11:43:37 am
Hello, I am (as you can tell by my screen name) Sara Yellow, trust me I did not want 'Yellow' as my last name. I prefer Blue, or possibly Red. But we can't have everything we want, right? Any who, My best math moment was when I got 100% on my test, I was overjoyed. My worst math moment was when we where doing a gallon man ( do not ask.) and I was going to do the face when my ''friend'' said she hated my design (Who does that?!). My advice towards strategies are use the strategy that you are most comfortable with, and to practice different methods of equations and such. Trust me (or not) it'll help :). I look forward to pi and ratios, I don't look forward to geometry ( Ugh...). Anyways, that's all I can cram into this comment, anymore and I would end up writing a novel.

Hi guys! I know you won't want me to drone on and on about myself, I'll just keep my introduction short. Ok here it goes... My name is Trinity Lewis. Wow! That was difficult. Anyway, my best moments in math class were when I got to be the teacher and explain a problem. My worst was getting my lowest grade a 67 in a graded math homework sheet. But I found out the grade was an accident and it really was a 97. So I was happy about that. One of the strategies I use is logical reasoning. I just ask myself "Is my answer reasonable?" Another one I use is crossing out the definite wrong answers. I look forward to learning more math and I am not worried about a thing

Some of my best moments in math class was when I got 100% on a very hard math test, also another one of my best moments was when we were playing a mass game in class and I one every single time one of my worst math class moment was when I forgot to study for a math test and I did horrible on it! Horrible!! Two strategies that I have learned over the years is to take my time and always check over my own work because one time I finished a test and checked over my work and I almost had all of them wrong from rushing. What I'm most looking forward to in six grade is learning about new types of math and gradually getting stronger in maths that I was before

Hi, I'm Sophie and I am in yellow math! I love math and I'm super excited to get started this year! My best moment in math class was when we shared two truths and one lie. My worst moment in math class was when I heard that we had fun/easy homework. One of my strategies that helps me problem solve is to break down the important information so I can solve the problem easily. My second strategy is to really look at the symbol so that you don't end up multiplying when you need to add. That can really mess up your answer! I am looking forward to learning new and a bit challenging topics in math. I'm not really worried about anything this year in math!

Hello everyone, just like my favorite color I am Emma Red. I have had some good and bad moments in math class, but the worst was when I did not get the grade I wanted on a quiz and the teacher said "Raise your hand if you need to retake the test!" I was the only person that raised their hand. The best moment would have to be when the teacher made math fun and creative to learn. For example, when my friend and I teamed up and made a gallon man to represent the liquid measurements. When I need help problem solving I always do two things, read the question slowly so I understand it and check my answer. In math class I am most looking forward to learning from Ms.Scott and having fun during math instead of it being boring. I am most worried about remembering the methods I learned last year and making sure that I am doing the correct formula. I cannot wait for the year ahead.
Ms. L. Scott

My best moment in math was when I was the only one to get an A on a test- and also a lollipop from the teacher! :) My worst moment was when I thought i was done with a superhard quiz that everyone took so long on, and then i found out there was a backside... To help with homework, promise yourself a TV marathon or an extra-big dessert that you have to finish your homework to earn. I look forward to math solutions i can use daily, but i am worried about the Milestone test... :( --- Buh-bye :)

some good strategies i used for algebra was PEMDAS it really helped a lot Another one for fraction was Stewie And peter from family guy so i could remember improper fractions and proper fractions Stewie was for the improper because he has a giant head bigger than his body and an improper fraction has a numerator larger the the denominator the peter was for proper fraction because peter has a smaller head than his body and a proper fraction has a numerator smaller than the denominator

Hello, I love math and can't wait to learn a ton of it this year in Ms.Scott's wonderful math class. Math has been a roller coaster for me with some high's and some low's. One of high's was when I realized I got a perfect score on the math CRCT and that meant all that hard work had finally paid off. One of my low's was when I failed a math test and it was all because I skipped a question. Some wonderful strategies for math are also up in my brain. Whenever you are doing a problem, always write the problem down on paper and show your work. Additionally, always check over your work twice and don't rush it. I am looking forward this year to being able to learn both 6th grade math and 7th grade math. I am also most worried about keeping grade super high all year long. Lets hope for the best this year.

My best moment in math was last year when I tied for first place with a 6th grader in the school wide Math Jeopardy contest. I haven't really had a worst moment in math but I am a little worried about balancing all my homework. I use a strategy my teacher taught me last year--using a highlighter to mark the symbols and important words in problems and equations. Attending tutorials before a test is another strategy I use

My name is Arjun Red and math is the best. The best part of math is learning how easy a new math subject is. The worst part of math is your teacher telling you that you have to do math in a certain way other than the strategy you've been using most of your life. I use basic strategies for math. But when I divide fractions, I switch the numbers already and write it down as a multiplication proplem to save room on the paper. I look forward to seeing new forms of math but I'm worried I won't understand.

Hi, I am Msemaji Yellow and I love to play basketball. The best part a bout math is that there's always different ways to figure out different problems. The worst part about Math is that there's so many ways you can get confused or misunderstand a problem. A strategy that I have used in math is making a positive and negative chart when dealing with positive(4) and negative(-4) numbers in a problem. Another strategy I have used in math is counting on my figures wich I'm sure most of us do it.

In math class I am looking forward to learning more in algebra. I am least looking forward to having a boring math class wich I'm sure I won't with having a teacher like Mrs.Scott :) Hello, my name is Nolan Red. I love drawing and video games. My best moment in math was when I got a perfect 105 on a quiz, it was great. My worst time in math was trying to figure out how to find and do this assignment, because I totally forgot what to do and how to do it and went into crisis mode. My 2 strategies that help me concentrate and problem solve are not stopping until i finish or if I have to turn it in, and always double checking my work. I look forward to learning 6th grade math, and I'm worried about 7th grade math because I've seen my older cousin doing it and it looks HARD.

My worst and best moments both occurred in the 5th grade. My least favorite moment(s) were when I was writing down my notes, and right in the middle, the teacher changed the slide. On the brighter side, one of my fondest math memories' were the projects we did. My teacher, Mrs. Hall, was always VERY creative when came to the projects we did.

My worst moment in math was when I left my notebook at school before a test. Two strategies I use are to check my work and to study before a test. I'm really looking forward to any math group projects with a team. There is only one thing that I really hate about every class and it's pop quizzes.

Hi, I'm Walker and I am happy to be apart of Ms. Scotts green class! Thoughout the years I've spent in school, the subject math has had a few highs and lows. Back in 5th grade I got a 100% on one of my unit tests, I felt very proud of myself and so did my family. A low of mine was when I failed an important math test that was crucial to my grade! a few of my stradeges are kepping all my work organized and studing when an important test or quiz comes up. I am very excited about this math class! I hope to improove my math skills this year. I hope my grade turns out how I want it to!

My name is Lucia Green, and I love anything to do with singing, dancing, and acting. My best moment in math class was when my teacher gave my friends and I an advanced math packet to do, rather than the regular math assignment. My worst moment in math class was when my friends and I realized how hard the advanced math packet really was. One strategy I use in math is, I break down the problem to help me understand it better. Another strategy I use, is I draw a problem out to help me visualize it better. I look forward to pushing myself, and seeing what I can do. I'm worried about forgetting stuff that I should obviously know.
Kamryn Red
8/4/2014 01:22:15 pm
Hello math class! My name (as shown above) is Kamryn Red. One of the worst moments in math class is when we were doing a connect-the-dots puzzle. (except with grid coordinates) Well, you were supposed to make a line where the coordinates told you to,and I was awful at that! Anyway, the lines were supposed to form a dog at the end, and I failed so bad that my math teacher showed my deformed "dog" to the whole class showing what NOT to do! Now enough with the worst moments. Let me tell you about the best one! We had a really hard test, and I was the only one to get the super hard bonus question right in the grade. Two strategies that I have used to problem solve are always check my work and make sure my answer makes sense. I look forward to working with fractions, and I am most worried about learning seventh grade material.

Hi, my name is Camden Yellow and I can eat pounds and pounds of crab legs. My best moment in math class was when I completely forgot to study and I got an A on my test. My worst moment was when I came in confident because I studied HARD, yet I still got a 73. Two strategies I have used for problem solving are showing my work and checking my answers twice and another strategy is to practice often. I look forward to learning new things in math and I'm most worried about the amount of homework later in the school year.

Hello I am Kennedy, my worst moment was when I received a bad grade on a math test. My best moment was when I was the only one in the class to get A+ . I have had good and bad moments. My strategy for doing good in math and solving problems is staying focused and reading the instructions over and over so I know that I understand the questions. I look forward to learning new math concepts but I am worried that I will try my hardest and some things will still be tough, so these are they answers to the questions you have asked.

Hi, my name is Anna and I am in Ms.Scott's Accelerated Math class. My best moment in math class was when I got a 108% on a hard math test. I could hardly wait to tell my parents! My least favorite moment in math class was when my math teacher asked me a question I didn't know the answer to. I was so embarrassed! Two strategies that help me with math are paying attention and taking notes. I really look forward to doing fun projects in math, but I'm worried about keeping up a good grade in math.

Hi my name is Dylan green and this is my first day at Inman middle school and I am kind of nervous for math. My best moment in a math class was in the when I mastered a test. but I have to say my worst moment was when my math teacher scolded me a couple of times. DMSCB is a strategy. I learned to solve long division. Focus is my second strategy. I am looking forward to learning new ways of doing math! and what I am most worried to in math is a pop quiz.

Hi all, my name is Kristen and I do not have a nickname. One of my favorite moments of math class was when I couldn't stop laughing and my math teacher asked me if I was okay, then the ENTIRE class started laughing! One of my worst moments of math class was when I got put in an awful seat and I think I shed a very theatrical tear! One of my strategies to do well is to always take good notes, you never know when you or a friend may really need them. Another strategy that I use to do well is to always come prepared for class. This will keep you from having to disrupt class and ask the teacher for what you need. I am excited to get to know Ms. Scott and how her math class is. I am worried that I could forget an important assignment, but let's hope that doesn't happen!

8/4/2014 03:08:44 pm
Hi, My name is Pete Green, and I am looking forward to a great year at Inmann. My best moment in Math was when I received a 100% on my test on fractions. I was proud of myself because I studied hard for the test. My worst moment in Math was when we were learning about geometry and I got an easy question wrong over and over again in front of my class. Writing down all the steps for a math problem has been a helpful strategy for me. I also like to use notebook paper when solving math problems. I look forward to learning new things in Math this year. I am not looking forward to a lot of homework. I hope we have a great year!

My name is as shown above Julius Red. One of my worst moments in math class were when I was hlf way through my last weeks in sixth grade and I found out I had 75% average. Some of my best times is when I was able to get my 75% average to a 90% average. My math stratagies are listen, study, and get an A. In math class this year I'm looking forward to learn about things and have a good year. I am also a little worried that I might not do good in math class, but that hopfully won't happen.

Hi, my name is Cody Blue. I think it’s funny that my real last name is also a color that starts with the letter B. My best moment in math was the time that my class got 100 on a quiz but I ended up with the highest score of 110 by using my bonus ticket. My worst moment in math was when I found out that I failed a graphing project. I failed it because one mistake in the beginning makes it all wrong. Luckily my teacher let me redo it. When I have trouble solving a problem I usually search for a tutorial online or ask my mom. I also write down questions to ask my teacher. I am worried that the quizzes and tests will be really difficult this year, but I look forward to making new friends and improving my math skills. Comments are closed.
